WILD POKÉMON
DON'T GO OUT! IT'S UNSAFE!
Wild Pokémon are obtainable only in specifically designated threads commonly identified as "Wild Threads", which are then divided into two subcategories based on the thread's purpose. Members are still permitted to roleplay the actions and behavior of non-player controlled wild Pokémon in normal threads, however they will not be able to capture them or gain levels from them.
Wild Threads must be personally asked for on the forum's designated request space along with a link to the thread in question, otherwise staff members will not be inclined to take them up. Players are only allowed a single active Wild Thread per character up to a maximum of three throughout their entire roster; this is to discourage needless forum clutter, and makes for a much faster, smoother, and far less stressful experience.
Like any other type of thread on Global League, Wild Threads may be taken up alongside any others that a character is currently participating in as elaborated by the site's partial liquid-time guidelines, and are also bound by the same limitations as well.
The first flavor of Wild Thread, as the title insinuates, allows a member to hunt for and capture Pokémon to add to their growing collections. The staff member who takes up the thread as its moderator will then generate a Pokémon at random for your character to defeat or capture on the next post. Defeating a Pokémon only requires a minimum of 150 words to be typed, whereas actually capturing the Pokémon requires a minimum of 350 words. Wild Capture Threads will last until the moderator rolls three Pokémon or when the player wishes for it to end.
These are the only type of threads outside of Event Threads where Pokémon can be captured, and counts as a single Wild Thread.
The second variety of Wild Thread, as stated above, is for the express purpose of improving the strengths of a character's Pokémon without having to directly issue a battle challenge to another character. The word requirements for defeating a wild Pokémon are identical to Capture Wild Threads, but the option to catch the Pokémon is entirely absent here. Training Wild Threads will last until the moderator rolls five Pokémon or when the player wishes for it to end.
Training Wild Threads, like Capture Wild Threads, count as a single Wild Thread.
